About
Built by people who measured an OR before they wrote software for one.
Synchrony Surgical is a real-time perioperative intelligence platform that helps hospitals run more efficient, accountable, and predictable operating rooms. The method came first. It was proven by hand, in a real OR, years before any of it was software, and it still starts from the hospital's own standards rather than an algorithm's. We're not a vendor guessing at what an OR needs; we're building what the room already needed.

Where the method came from
The approach didn’t start as software. In 2012, a group of surgeons and hospital administration came together under a co-management agreement to create the Spine and Joint Institute, with a shared goal: improve orthopedic and spine surgery for patients, staff, and surgeons alike.
One initiative mattered more than the rest: defining a clear expectation for each interval of the surgical case and measuring performance against it. They did it manually, on paper. It worked: they cut turnover from 47 to 20 minutes, sustained year after year, and case volume tripled over the next four years as surgeons moved to the site that respected their time.
The results proved the method. What they couldn’t prove was that it would survive past a champion with a clipboard. Manual tracking doesn’t scale across rooms, and it can’t produce data in time to act on today’s schedule.

What Synchrony is today
In 2024, we digitized that process. Synchrony is one platform, not three products to buy or learn separately, and it does three things in the order a team experiences them.
Define
The hospital sets its own intervals across Pre-Op, OR, and PACU, a time expectation for each one, and the role accountable for it. The standards belong to the hospital, not to an algorithm.
Display
Staff confirm each interval with a single tap on a tablet, five per case. Every confirmation appears at once on the other tablets, the web dashboard, and the in-OR display. One entry goes everywhere, with no duplicate data entry.
Analysis
Once data accumulates, analytics show what changed and by how much, sliced by role, individual, department, and period, with minutes converted to dollars.
The loop is the point. When the data shows an expectation was set wrong, whether too tight, too loose, or owned by the wrong role, the hospital revises it in Define and measures against the corrected target. The software is what makes the method survive past one spreadsheet and one champion.
Who we build for
Synchrony is built for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers with five or more operating rooms: large enough to feel the cost of OR inefficiency, small enough that one committed champion can drive adoption.
If your team believes in defining expectations and holding every role accountable to them, the tool has something to measure. If it doesn’t, no tool will. We’re based in Redlands, California, and we build for teams that want to run their most valuable room on evidence rather than instinct.

The fastest way to understand Synchrony is to watch it measure a case. Request a demo and we’ll walk your team through Define, Display, and Analysis. Then a 60-Day Assessment measures the value in your own operating rooms before anything changes.
